Tom has an extended chat with his old friends.
Steve and Sharon Edelman began their association as Steve Edelman and Sharon Anderson. Â Hired by KSTP TV in 1976 to be co-hosts of Twin Cities Today, little did they know that their professional association would lead to marriage. Â They are about to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Â After four years of the successful live morning show, Steve and Sharon left the Twin Cities to co-host the nationally syndicated World of People, a show that took them to locations all over the world. Â In 1982 they returned to the Twin Cities to launch Good Company, a daily afternoon hour that preceded the then-new Oprah Winfrey Show. Â Good Company went on to become the highest-rated local talk show in the country. Â In 1985 their son David was born, an event that many think was shared on the air. Â Neither their wedding nor the birth of their son actually aired, though many remember seeing it. Â When Good Company ended its 12-year run in 1994, Steve and Sharon started their own company, cleverly named Edelman Productions, which produces shows for HGTV, The History Channel, Travel Channel, Food Network, and DIY. Â The success of that company, which is now located in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C., has capped a fascinating journey through the world of television.
